Ordem e Progresso

The economy is on the minds of many Americans right now, which is the polite way of saying that things are pretty lousy. We’ve never seen a Fed cut the prime rate as much as 1.25 in eight days before, so we all have to wonder what the policy makers know that we don’t.

Things aren’t bad everywhere, however. We have only to look to our South to see a land of great opportunity developing. Way South, in fact, to the diverse and vibrant land known collectively as Latin America.

Why Do We Write?

Why do we write? It’s a tough question. People put a lot of effort into blogs, but not too many of them are worth reading. Most of these will eventually cease to be amusing, stop being updated, and gradually dissolve as if there were never more than some kind of atmospheric turbulence. So why are they started in the first place?

Streaming

When in doubt, you can always talk about the weather in polite Minnesota conversation. Since we usually have a doubt of some kind, Minnesotans tend towards weather as a reliable stand-by. It’s not controversial but it provides a nearly endless supply of entertainment much like driving a flaming bus through a wall of televisions, at least in the sense that it’s likely to be lethal.

Still About People

This might be a hard blog entry for me. No, it’s not because I was wrong about Obamania striking the nation – but because I really have to move on from politics for a while. The biggest event is over, and the Democrats are remarkably even while the Republicans look to continue sniping at a clear front-runner. What really concerns me is that something was missing last night at our Precinct Caucuses that I was hoping to be able to write about.
