Competition with other forms of entertainment is a very big issue, since a book requires a sturdy commitment; a video from Netflix can be popped into a laptop, watched, and sent back in just 2 hours time.

Still Over – Very Over
I’m not usually one to brag. This whole blog thang isn’t about me, after all, but about the ideas and perspective I think need to come into our discussion about the changing world around us. There are different ways of looking at things that can make our lives much simpler and understandable, if we only give them a chance.
Hear the Quiet
I’ve said here that no one should feel bad about not understanding the recent credit meltdown, since the people who are supposed to understand it don’t either. That’s not exactly true, as I’d guessed any discerning reader would realize, but the voices of reason have long been drowned out by the shouts of those who made a lot of money off of money. Those guys are kind of glum and silent now, so we can hear the quieter voices of reason a lot more clearly.

It’s Tuesday, the day I answer my mail. Sadly, I haven’t gotten as much of it as I’d like lately (what, do you all have Spring fever or have I been tedious?). Between that and being rather bizzy I’ll keep it short.

The US election hasn’t been as heated over the last week, so perhaps it’s time to take a deep, cleansing breath. Inhale, hold it – exhale – good. We can all step back from the heat of the moment to think about what’s going on for a while.
