Breaking the Code
It’s been one of those days. I started the process of moving this humble blog over to WordPress late in the day, when the topic came up naturally for a friend. Why WordPress? Because it’s reasonably good looking, has nice features, and is in my price range (free). But to get things going, I thought it would be nice to move all of this junk, er, all these posts over to start ‘er out with some stuff. And there’s enough of them I’d like to automate it, yes?
The Investment Express
The USofA has a number of problems right now, but if you pair up a few of them they start to look remarkably complimentary. My picks? Put together the need for an economic stimulus that reaches further than the $600 checks written so far and the need to do something about our excessive dependence on oil.
The Verse of a Song
What is it that makes writing jump off of the page and into your imagination? We can all learn a lot by studying what the masters have done. What I have been trying to understand is the total outlook on life held by people who I have seen write very well. By doing this, a strange theory came to mind.
Generic Politics
The ominous music buzzes on the teevee. The deep voice informs you that something dire is happening. Or perhaps the music is upbeat, and a friendly female voice just this side of a telephone sex operation comes on. What can it be? We all know that these are nothing more than political ads. The same old crap we see year after year.
